Are the hoverflies dangerous?

Despite their resemblance to bees, Polyfly hoverflies are not dangerous at all. They look like bees, fly like bees and behave very similarly to them: this is a mimicry that allows them to deter predators by making them appear dangerous, although they are not at all. In fact, they have no stinger and cannot sting; they do not even have mandibles to bite! QUEENFLY® and GOLDFLY® are very docile insects: if you have the chance to come across one on a flower, pick it up carefully in your hand and it is very likely that you can play with it.
